Harry and Colette Mestyanek believe in community.
They retired in 2017 from long and successful careers. Harry had his own landscape architecture practice and Colette worked at a large public university. Community and creativity were at the forefront in those careers and they are excited about carrying that forward into the Studio 9515 community.
Harry recently realized a life-long dream when he completed his Master of Fine Arts at Washington State University in Pullman. He focused on further developing his skills in the ceramic arts, taught university-level studio art classes, and explored the intersections of art and technology. Launching Studio 9515 is one part of his many-spoked art practice.
Colette has always been a maker and believes in the importance of intergenerational sharing of creative pursuits as a means of growing and maintaining community. Her main interests have been in fiber arts, paper crafts, cooking, and pickling. She is now beginning to explore hand built ceramics and gardening.
